After a stroke at the age of thirteen, Sebastian Meade used up his angst! While at Ripon College, he took all the art history and studio classes possible. That was when he figured that it was important to make art that encouraged the general public to enjoy and feel invited to experience art and to do that through whimsy and humor. He has accomplished this by making alien looking robots, space scape paintings, space capsule sculpture and now by adding monsters to his work. Having been told by some intellectuals that he was not taking art seriously, Sebastian stood by his view that art should reach out to everyone. This belief also prompted him to begin going out to document all kinds of public art, wanting to make it accessible to wider audiences
